About Us Nick Harborne and Paul Roberts met in 1998 whilst working overseas in aid and development programmes. After many years in some of the worlds troubled areas; Bosnia, Albania, Kosovo, North Korea, Sierra Leone, Haiti, the tranquility of the Kennet and Avon Canal in Berkshire and the Grand Union Canal near Iver provided a welcomed respite in between their various postings for Paul and Nick. More recently Nick spent 6 years as Director of Reading Single Homeless Project. Paul still escapes the British winter periodically, working for Save the Children on short contracts. Nick and Paul started Canal and Tipi Experience in 2007 with one Tipi and two boats. They now have three boats and four tipis. As boat owners their experience underpins their belief that a holiday on the waterways should be an experience, a memory that you will take away and reflect on for time to come. Likewise, staying in a Tipi is not really camping, it's an alternative way of life. A unique experience. Canal and Tipi Experience strives to provide you with an individual touch to create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere during your waterways holiday, or under the canvas of a tipi (teepee), for the duration of your holiday. |
